This painting was created with spring in mind and bluebells. As a young girl growing up in the country on a farm, I loved going to the woods and see the blanket of bluebells spreading across the woodland floor, its a sight to be seen. I would always pick a bunch of bluebells for mum, those were found memories. And my fascination for art grew then following my mums foot steps. My mum left this world many years ago but the found memories I have picking wild flowers will always be with me, it was something special between us and I’d love watching her face when she received them.
I wanted to add some crystals in this piece so I looked up the bluebell meaning, which is Humility.
here are a few things that are associated with bluebells.
In English folklore it is said that the bluebells call the fairies to their meetings.
Some say that you should not walk through bluebells as it is believed that the enchantment would lead you to the little folk who would then spirit you away. Folklore also warns you that should you be unlucky to hear the bluebells ring, that you may die within a year. Well what ever you believe bluebells are enchanting and through all my childhood I just received the greatest of pleasure playing and walking through the blankets of bluebells, to a young girl you feel like a princess surrounded by the beauty of nature.
Another interesting fact I found out was that the bluebells are named after a Greek youth ‘Endymion’ with whom the Moon Goddess Selene fell in love.
For this painting I thought carefully about the crystal meaning I wanted to give this piece, I decided upon, azurite, green jade, labradoite, and moss agate.
Phantom quartz has yet to be added to this painting, so far this design has been introduced to my new clothing range, so more to come;)
I wanted to use earthly greens blues to match with the theme of bluebells, I used azurite because it is a stone of communication, and transformation, and the bluebells of springs bring a time of abundant transformation, bluebells are also said to be cleansing and azurite also hold this cleansing healing qualities, It the new born spring of awareness and creativity.
Green Jade is a protective stone it is also connected to the heart chakra and expresses unconditional love forgiveness and compassion, a great stone that symbolises our mothers love. Here’s some interesting facts Green jade in China is used to attract love especially when carved into a butterfly amulet.
Now Labradorite is one of my favourite stones, due to the beautiful colours, its a destiny stone, also said to represent the temple to the stars. I’m excited while I’m writing about this stone it has so much meaning to me, it helps you nurture your spiritual destiny and develop your psychic abilities, it promotes inner worth about your own abilities, its an ideal stone for creativity excellent for all artists to help you believe in your life’s work. I used this crystal in the wings to help you fly freely with wonderful possibilities;)
Moss agate because its a true nature stone I love the green and brown in this this crystal it resembles the branches and roots of our life giving trees, In times of stress this is a good stone to bring you back to nature, space and freedom, its a very good grounding stone, calming you.
